Independent Newsmedia is looking for a part-time features reporter in the Phoenix area.
Ideal candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or equivalent experience and an interest in learning about the community around them and the people that make things work. We’re looking for a self-motivated reporter with an eye for unique stories, a strong grasp of AP Style and the ability to take compelling photos to accompany their stories.
Applicants should be able to find creative, impactful, entertaining and informative subjects, specifically in the areas of Scottsdale and Town of Paradise Valley. We’re looking for someone who can find the “community” in community reporting, telling stories about the people, places and events that really set Scottsdale and TPV apart.
Starting pay range is $18.75-$22 based on qualifications and experience.
For 50 years, Independent Newsmedia has covered the Phoenix area through a collection of daily, weekly and monthly newspapers as well as its online coverage at YourValley.net. It prides itself on its nonpartisan reporting and bringing people closer to the communities they cover.
