The Eastern Arizona Courier and The Copper Era cover four communities twice weekly (in Graham County) and three communities weekly (in Greenlee County) in print, plus we provide 24/7 web, social media coverage and electronic newsletters.

If you have a passion for finding news and features, but need to hone your craft before moving to a larger market, we’ve got a job for you. Come work for an editor with more than 30 years of experience in counties rich in history and known for their close-knit communities.

We may be remote, but we have a lot of stories to cover. We’ve had more than one tragedy and lots of political intrigue. Check out this story and this one, too. We also have our share of interesting characters, like this historian and this pioneer. And again, we have a lot of history. Here’s this one, too.

We’re a small newsroom so you could be assigned anything from schools to features to town hall to mining and farming. We love enterprise work that goes beyond the surface. When you’re not at work, we’ve got tons of places to hike, hunt, fish, four-wheel or go birding. We’re located about two hours from Tucson and three hours from Phoenix, as well.

We want people with recent newsroom experience, a Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, strong knowledge of AP style and grammar. We need someone who is a clean, consistent, accurate writer. We need somebody who can come up with enterprise ideas and contribute to projects. Nights and weekend work as needed.

As part of Wick Communications, we offer a competitive package of pay and benefits, including medical, dental and 401(k). We are an equal opportunity employer.

Interested? Send a resume, at least five clips and a cover letter laying out what you can bring to the table to Belinda Mills, publisher at belinda@eacourier.com
